Dancing in the Rain: New Jersey Wedding at Brooklake Country Club
While a rainy forecast might have stressed some brides and grooms, Lindsay & Wizzard didn’t seem to mind the downpour on their Brooklake Country Club wedding. Instead, the couple laughed, kissed, and danced, sometimes beneath a pair of clear umbrellas.
I pay close attention to the weather forecast on the weekends… just so I can hope for a beautiful day for the couples I design for. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way, and you have to make the most of it and dance in the droplets! As you can see from these wedding day photos, Lindsay and Wizzard did just that.
When Lindsay contacted me about her invitations last June, she knew exactly what she wanted. She explained to me that she had not been happy or satisfied with other options her and her fiancé had explored, so she kept digging and researching until she came across Laurel Cove Creative. “I love how knowledgeable you are with the wedding invitation process!” she initially told me in her inquiry. This is exactly what I hope my couples can find comfort in - knowing that I’ll be with them every step of the way as we discuss their stationery needs.
As we continued chatting, Lindsay seemed to hesitate when she asked me how quickly we could make her vision come to life - she wanted to send her invitations to her guests in less than 2 months. Aside from the custom design work, our plan was to also include a real satin ribbon embellishment on each invitation. Although this takes a bit of hands-on assembly work, I told her not to stress and we’ll make it happen.
And that we did! We designed a stunning invitation suite together- combining beautiful ivory card stock, adhered to an elegant shimmer panel card with an attached, tied ribbon for the main invitation. We included coordinating reply cards and topped them off with beautifully addressed envelopes. We even had more than enough turnaround time before their wedding to create custom matching Menus and fun Timelines for their guests’ Hotel Bags!
I am so glad Lindsay and Wizzard found me and we were able to create such a special suite and other day-of pieces together. Although the weather may have been less than perfect, you can see from their photographs their wedding day certainly was!
