Coronavirus & Your Wedding: Informing Guests about Postponement or Changes

These are unprecedented times. My heart truly goes out to all the couples who are in the position of canceling or rescheduling their wedding. I want to help in any way I can.

A simple card mailed to guests can remind them to check your website for current updated plans.

First things first- if you’ve rescheduled or are changing your wedding date and/or plans, you’ll have to let guests know. You can start by asking family and friends to spread to the word if your wedding is coming up quickly.

If your wedding is a bit further out, and you’re unsure of what might change, I suggest updating your wedding website acknowledging the coronavirus and letting guests know you will keep them in the loop. If you don’t have a wedding website, it might be time to put one together specifically for this reason. You can update it easily and guests will have easy/quick access to up-to-date and accurate information. You can go as far as adding a link to the CDC website in the ‘Travel & Accommodations” section for anyone who would be traveling for your big day.

So how will you let guests know about your website and to check for changes, or if you’ve already rescheduled your date? Some couples may want to send out a new invitation. I understand the investment that’s already been made and how these costs may add up, so I’ve got some alternative solutions below.

  1. If you’re not sure if your wedding will change, but want to keep guests updated: Put together or update your website, as mentioned above. Furthermore, you may want to send out an informational card with the link and reminding guests to check it out.

  2. If you’ve rescheduled and have a new date: We can design and send out an informational card with the new date and any important details. You’ll need guests to RSVP as well. You can send along new reply cards, but what I might suggest is an online or phone rsvp. You can enable online RSVP on many wedding sites, or include an email or phone number for guests to reply about the new date.

  3. If you want to reprint invitations with new information: We can do that as well. I’m offering my current couples the option to have their invitations reprinted at cost. I’ll update the designs for free as needed and you’ll only need to cover the actual printing or material costs.

Please reach out if you would like to discuss any of these or other options.

I know how stressful wedding planning is, and this is traumatic for many of you whom have been planning. I’m here for you- please just reach out and we’ll do everything we can to help.
