Five Reasons to Hire a Stationery Designer

FiveReasons

While I do believe there are certain things you can DIY for your wedding, I firmly believe your wedding invitations should not be one of them. Your Save the Dates and Invitations are your guests’ first peek into your big day, and you want them to be impressed!

Below you'll find my top five reasons I believe you should hire a professional stationery designer (like myself!) for your wedding invitations and why it's worth the investment.

1. Your Wedding is one-of-a-kind, just like you.
Whether you’re doing something totally eccentric or hitting all the current wedding trends, your style should reflect your personalities. Your invitations are the first peek into your wedding day your guests will see. Knowing this, a great design and good quality says a lot. Get your guests excited to attend!

2. You are 100% in control.
Remember, these are YOUR invitations! Rules are meant to be broken. Thinking about doing an online RSVP only? Sure! Want to include an illustration of a llama just because you love them? You got it!

3. Your guest list is unique.
The size and makeup of your guest list should guide you. Keep your guests in mind when designing your invitations, especially when including a details card. Will you have a lot of guests traveling for your wedding? Think about including maps or a few “must see” places they can visit over the weekend. Having a small, intimate wedding? Maybe you’ll want to invite everyone to a welcome party or brunch the next morning? Choosing a custom designed invitation allows you this flexibility!

4. You will save time and money.
Everyone knows that planning a wedding is not easy, and definitely requires a lot of time. As a bride or groom, you have a ton of things on your to-do list to get in order for your big day, and attempting to DIY your wedding stationery can turn into an extremely difficult and time-consuming (often money-consuming) task. They can also make recommendations according to your budget, since they work closely and communicate with paper suppliers and printers on a daily basis. Speak with your designer about your vision, and let them handle it for you!

5. You can see what you want, but not how to execute it.
One of the best parts of designing wedding invitations is hearing the inspiration behind a couples’ vision. Their words and ideas will help a designer envision their ideal invitation suite. You may be able to picture what you want but your designer will help you bring it to life!

Well, there you have it! Hopefully this short list will help you decide if going custom is right for you. And I hope you’re even more excited to send out your own personal invitations real soon!
